CityHope is located in the town of Gates, on the west side of the city of Rochester NY. We are a church that is seeking to bring the hope of Christ to the people that are in the town of Gates, and the city of Rochester.
We love and follow Jesus. Following Jesus is basing our lives off of the teachings found throughout the Bible. The results of following the teachings of God are called the Fruits of the Spirit. Followers of Jesus bear these fruits of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, and self-control.
CityHope is committed to helping people become disciples of Jesus. To be a disciple means that we are students of Jesus striving to become more like Christ, and to change Gates and Rochester for Christ.
Our mission as a church is: To make Disciples of Christ who go into their community and make more Disciples of Christ.
What We Do
CityHope is a community of men and women who together strive to follow the teachings of Jesus. Our goal is to become a community of disciples who learn how to live the way Christ teaches us to live. As our lives are molded and formed by Jesus we will be able to then transform our communities as well.
Meet The Team
Pastor Caleb Hall
Pastor Caleb felt the call of God to be a youth pastor as a junior in high school. That calling led him to Indiana Wesleyan University where he met his amazing wife Anne, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry. Currently Caleb is finishing his Master’s of Divinity degree through Wesley Seminary.
Caleb has been at CityHope since the fall of 2016, spending 2 years here as the Family Life pastor, and he has been the lead pastor since June of 2018. Caleb served in ministry in Anderson, Indiana for 4 years before moving to Rochester.
Caleb loves doing ministry with his wife Anne, and their three kids, Ava, Levi, and Crosby. Caleb loves spending time with his family, and watching his young kids grow. He is also an avid sports fan.
Michael grew up in Rochester, NY with no intentions in pursuing ministry. Shortly after graduating HS in 2010, he felt led to start attending Church, which eventually led to the call to ministry. He attended Elim Bible Institute & College in 2015 and received his associates degree in Biblical Studies.
His heart for Children and teens has grown passionately as he has served them to some extent for the past nearly ten years
In his free time, Michael enjoys hanging out with close friends and family, and watching a good movie.
